No it wasn't working with the blown one, as i mentioned (Or not) the pcb was just heating up when i was using it as it is. And now it atleast gets spinning and even installs drivers when connected via a USB2SATA adapter. That's what i was afraid of. :(

I think you can just clone a single partition over to your ssd (which should be the OS (C:) if it's not exceeding 500GB) then copy the rest of the data later which can fit on the ssd.
