    Question m.2 to 4x PCIE 16x riser?

Hi guys, The market is full with PCIE 1x slot to 4x PCIE 16x converters, for mining. For folding, the preferred minimum is a PCIE 3.0 1x slot per card. Using a PCIE 1x slot to 4x slots of PCIE 16x ,would slow down each card considerably, and is not recommended. My motherboard has 1x PCIE 16x...

Power savings; Disable unused threads on Xeon, and remove unused RAM?

3-5W for RAM, the CPU needed to run at full speed. System has been replaced by another, more efficient system.

Overclocking IGP of Celeron N, possible?

Either Linux or Windows, how can I overclock the IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor)? I have a HP 11, with a dual core, Intel Celeron N3060. The CPU speed is 1,6Ghz, with a 2,48Ghz boost, but the cooling of the laptop is so good, it constantly runs at 2,48Ghz. I have no complaints about...

[SOLVED] How do I update my bios, with unknown motherboard?

It may not be good, but it works just fine for older hardware (up to GTX 1060), and on a reset, or CTRL+ALT+DELETE, the fan doesn't ramp up to full speed. This server was probably never meant to run bitcoin or folding with many graphics cards. It does have about 6 SATA ports, and can run 16-23GB...

Power savings; Disable unused threads on Xeon, and remove unused RAM?

Hi all, I have a Xeon E5 2650 V2 (10 core, 20 threads), and a V4 (12 cores, 24 threads) system. Both running Windows 10 home 64bit. They were part of a server system before, but now are doing bitcoin mining and folding. Actually, only the graphics cards are folding. The CPUs aren't very...

    GT 1030: Asus or Gigabyte?

I went with Gigabyte, simply because the passive heat sink seems like it can cool the card better. And it does! It runs higher overclock, and between 50-58C at maximum overclock and stress test (folding).

    GT 1030 LP vs OC

Proponent for the OC version, passive cooled. If you can get your hands on one, they can get overclocked quite nice! Especially when given sufficient cooling. There are 2 ways of cooling this card. One is to mount a fan on it. They're pretty cheap. Second is to cause a cool airflow to pass by...

[SOLVED] How do I update my bios, with unknown motherboard?

Thanks Faalin, you found a name I couldn't even find! It brought me to their local website http://www.xlzmotherboard.com/ With google translate, I'll see what I can understand from that site. The boards are solid and good, but won't run GTX 1070 or higher, or RTX cards. The bios is pretty...

    Installing DDR3 memory on Corei5 2500k

How many people of this thread are still here? I am just reflecting on an 8 year old thread XD! In the end, I went with a Brix PC for my internet needs, and a Xeon server for my workloads. Never needed to worry about RAM, as my server has 4x4GB of RAM, and my brix has 2 sticks of 4GB of RAM...

Question Why no USB 3.0 to PCIE exist?

Hi, I'm using my PC for folding. Folding doesn't use a lot of PCIE bandwidth. Is there a reason why there are no USB 3.0 to PCIE 16x slots available? I realize that a USB 3.0 is about 1/2 the speed of a PCIE 1x slot, but that might just work on a GT 1030 card externally for folding!
