Question System not starting after switching cases

An update to the thread. After removing the heatsink from the board to make it easier to access, I think I found the issue. The CPU came off with the heatsink. I believe that it may not have been secured correctly, and there is now a bent pin. I am not going to try and fix it myself and will...

Question System not starting after switching cases

Just tried starting his system with my PSU that I know works. The same exact issue happened. I'm starting to believe it may be the motherboard at this point, but I highly doubt that the issue will be covered under ASUS's warranty. Is there anything else I can try? Both of the systems' hardware...

Question System not starting after switching cases

Hey all, Thankfully I haven't had to make this post in a while, but of course I run into tech problems just weeks before I'm set to move out for college. My brother was not comfortable using my old P400S without the solid side panel (which was misplaced) to cover all the cables, so he wanted a...

Which CPU is better for multitasking, rendering, streaming and gaming - The i9 7900x or Threadripper 1950x?

"It depends" is always the answer. What software will you be using to render/stream? What games will you be playing? Are you aiming to have minimal FPS loss while gaming, or are you simply looking for a rendering beast? In most cases, a two-PC setup is better for streaming, but will sacrifice a...

    Is My Gaming Rig Good?

The GPU is pretty unbalanced for $1100. The CPU/RAM are a very strong combo, but a 1050 Ti has no place in a build of this budget. Not to mention, you're also lacking an SSD, which is an ABSOLUTE must for higher-tier systems. If you build it yourself, you can get a significantly better build...

    Bottlenecking?? GPU RAM CPU

8GB will be greatly limiting on your system. Check your system usage stats while streaming.

    New PC unable to boot

Please provide the EXACT SKU (model number) of your RAM. I had a similar issue with a kit of trident z.

Should I upgrade to an ssd?

Yes, it would. I would look into contacting the manufacturer of the laptop about transferring the OS to said SSD. You don't need a ridiculously fast M.2 SSD (doesn't have to be NVME, you won't see a huge difference between the two), just refer to the specs of your laptop to ensure everything is...

    CPU For Content Creation

It depends. What SPECIFIC software will you be using? Certain software will run better with certain processors.

Looking for advice on upgrading PC / Motherboard & CPU

Do note that any major upgrade would require a new kit of RAM as well, which would run you another 140 GBP. Are you looking to overclock at all? I would look into a core i5 8400 and a B360 board in your case. EDIT: Ninja'd.

Looking for a good z370 board

Are you sure that monitor is 4k 144hz? A 1060 is DRASTICALLY underpowered for that panel. I wouldn't feel comfortable pushing a high OC with that current PSU. But for a board, look at the Z370 Extreme 4 from ASRock. It's very good for the money.

Looking for a good z370 board

Depends on what you're doing? Looking for Extreme OC's, a platform just to run your system off of, or something more compact? The more specific you are, the more I can help. I prefer ASRock boards, so the three boards (for each tier of performance) would be the Pro4, the Gaming K6, and the Taichi.

Help me to build a budget gaming pc

If you don't need the OS, then here's what I'd recommend: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel - Core i3-8100 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor (€107.90 @ Caseking) Motherboard: Gigabyte - B360M DS3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€74.99 @ Amazon Deutschland) Memory...

    Deciding Between Two Gaming PCs

Have you considered building the system yourself at all? There's some parts in there that don't make much sense (e.g the corsair H60, 16GB of RAM, but only a 1060 3GB, the 2400G with a discrete GPU et cetera). Honestly I'd go for the second build; the 1060 3GB isn't too bad, since you'd be able...

    custom water-cooling for GPU only

You could easily set up a separate loop for your GPU, but depending on the model of it, liquid cooling probably isnt even worth it. Alternatively, you could also go out and buy an NZXT Kraken Adapter Bracket, which would allow you to mount traditional AIO's (like another h100i) onto your GPU.
