I am running the Nvidia 4 to 1 power connector that came with my 4090 and I can tell you that when you hear the click it is not fully seated. I used a magnifying glass to verify the latch was seated and to my surprise it was not and did not seat until I kept on wiggling the power connector...

Their cable does indeed leech off two pcie connectors on the PS with no data pins which is why I'm in search of a true pcie 5 power supply with side mounted connectors that adhere to the intel spec.

Right now the only PS I see in this configuration is the Corsair RM switch series which does not have dedicated 12vhpwr connectors to communicate with the rtx 4k series of cards. Has anyone seen any announcements from other manufacturers about releasing anything like it in the near future...

I also have a MX500 2tb firmware M3CR023 and SE has reported a firmware error for months now plus W11 file explorer doesn't show a capacity status under my pc.

I bought my original 5950x from them as they were gouging at a lower rate than the other etailers and fulfilled my order in a timely manner. Even newegg doesn't have any in stock and I don't have a microcenter close by to check on shelf inventory.

Can you try the gpu in another computer? I have seen a bad gpu crash a pc and a bad ps do the same, however, if both are know to be good then the cpu power phases on the mb could be going bad. Switching electronics can make clicking sounds.

Turn down the settings to the lowest possible and see if you can manage until you replace your gpu.
