yeah I went and checked, it was in fact on the wrong input and i feel like an idiot xD, although it when i switched it over it just said "message: entering power saving mode" and turns the monitor on standby.

i will go check now, but i tried on my tv as well and it didn't work there, and i am definite that it was on the right input on there.
