    i5 4690K vs i7 4790K For Gaming?

If you're strictly gaming and using your cpu for basic purposes, then 4690k. If you're planning on doing a little more than that, then go with the 4790k. You wont notice any performance difference in your games using one or the other. You'll only see the difference in activities and programs...

My quest to get a good cpu continued, FX returned, now questions about the Intel

4790k will do exactly what you need it to, and faster than the fx. That was the reason people were telling you to go with intel. You spend more money on a better processor, you get better results. The 4790k performs very, very well in the tasks that you'll need it to. Having said that, the fx...

Laptop still very sluggish after installing new Hard drive

Hey friends, A few months back, my girlfriend had an incident where she accidentally spilled coffee onto/into her laptop. After some serious work, i was able to get it back into running condition, albeit slowly. Eventually, i noticed just how slow her system was running, and noticed the...

Educate me on the GTX 970

The GTX 970 is a beast and the memory issue is really a non-issue. Perhaps a few years down the line when games use even more vram it could be an issue, but for the time being, it really isn't a huge deal. I've done several builds, all with the 970-980's and no one has had any issues with even...

Need advice on my new custom extreme PC built! !!

If you're going to spend what some people make in a year on a pc, then you might as well go for the g1 gaming gigabyte cards and custom cool them yourself. The water force set up is bulk, messy, and ridiculosly over-priced for what you'd be able to achieve doing it yourself. On a side note, and...

Please someone help convince me to keep the FX8350 I just bought

This may not seem related initially, but do you live near micro center? If so, they sell the 4790k for 279.00. which could save you quite a few bucks. If not, no big deal, i just thought i'd try to offer that so you knew your options.

    Psu: evga or XFX?

The evga PSU's are actually great. I own one myself. You cant beat the 10 year warranty either. My personal recommendation would be to go for that.

Worth it to go to 4970k from 2500k?

If you're doing some other heavy lifting on the cpu and you config is currently giving you issues, then upgrading wont hurt you. I feel like people look at benchmarks as the be all end all when it comes to decision-making. I currently use the 4790k at stock speeds and get 70+ fps in large raids...
