Connected using jumpers and it's working.
Now the problem is that is he's using Linux, so the typical windows software for controlling ARGB doesn't work for him. He's figuring out what to do about that, but that's a different problem.
Thanks for the help!
The fan set came pre-installed in the case, and didn't come with those attachments. No control box, no adapter cables. Just the fan hub (#7) and the multi-output splitter cable (#6), and an ESATA cable.
And there is no lettering on the port either.
Thanks. The 4 fans came with the Case, so unless he's missed something, he doesn't have all the parts mentioned in the manual for the 3-in-1 set.
Would it be safe to use 3 separate jumper cables to connect the fans to the motherboard? If yes, how to tell which one is 5V and which one is Ground?
My friend bought a DeepCool CL500 case, which came with 4 ARGB DeepCool CF120 fans.
He's using the case with an Asus TUF Gaming X570 Plus WiFi that has an Addressable Gen 2 header.
The fans are Daisy chained together which means he only needs to plugin a single 3-pin port into the motherboard...
Thanks, that helps. But is it safe? It doesn't seem to come in an AMD box, so would warranty be a problem?
What about motherboard compatibility? Since the processor is so new, is it possible it will need a BIOS update to boot with the 4650G?
Because he wants something usable now, and doesn't have the money to buy a 5000 series CPU or a good GPU at the moment. The CPU will be upgraded maybe a year from now. The GPU in maybe 3-6 months.
My friend had almost decided to go with a Ryzen 3400G - intended to be upgraded with an RTX 3000 series GPU (or similar) followed by a Ryzen 5000 series CPU over the next year.
Ryzen 5 3400G - ₹ 13,755...
The reason for going with an X570 is that he's starting with a Ryzen 3400G, so that he can take his time upgrading to an RTX 3000 series card in the future and a Ryzen 5000 series processor.
Doesn't the X570 also have all PCIE 4 lanes compared to the partial support in the B550?
I see that the Asus TUF-Gaming X570 Plus (WI-FI) has better reviews than the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus but in a case with enough fans and decent airflow, is the former worth the extra 16% in cost?
MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS - ₹ 17,220
Asus TUF-GAMING X570 PLUS (WI-FI) - ₹ 20,125
My friend is...
