Question Which GPU to hit 60 FPS on 5120*1440 monitor?

Ah, I see, you are right: I doubt I would notice those either. And makes total sense about the RAM. I'll start there. Thank you again! :)

Question Which GPU to hit 60 FPS on 5120*1440 monitor?

PSU is Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 750W More RAM might be a good idea. That new AMD card looks interesting. But it pains me to have to turn down settings once I'm paying more than $500 for the GPU. :)

Question Which GPU to hit 60 FPS on 5120*1440 monitor?

Thank you everyone for the advice. Much appreciated. I'm going to wait a bit to see what happens with pricing over the next few months. But sounds like a 4070ti Super (or the ti if I can still find it at the time) will be my best bet. Thank you again.

Question Which GPU to hit 60 FPS on 5120*1440 monitor?

Hi, Looking for advice/recommendations to upgrade my GPU (and maybe other parts). Over time, I've put together an ITX gaming PC for myself and my kids, lucking into some nice parts as I went -- either via sales or getting good deals on used parts. The current set-up: CPU: R7 5800x GPU: 3070...

Question Advice on proposed NAS parts?

Thank you both for the replies. Very much appreciated. The link to the article was super helpful. Part of the fun is of course to get to build the machine. I have shaved some cost by switching to a cheaper CPU/Mobo combo from Intel. Thank you again!

Question Advice on proposed NAS parts?

Looking for advice, please: I have a medium-sized Plex library, and am getting sick of juggling HDDs on the Windows PC that runs the server. Given that Black Friday is coming up, I thought I’d look into building a NAS, and move everything over there. (I’ve built a few PCs in the past, so am not...

Question GPU advice for today's prices

To close the loop: At the end of the day, we decided to stick to the original budget (which was $400 for the GPU), and make the most of that money we could. I got a 3060 ti (the MSI Ventus 3x LHR) for $405 on ebay. It rankles me to pay MSRP for anything used, but that's the world we live in...

Question GPU advice for today's prices

Looking for GPU advice please: I built a gaming PC for myself a few years ago (R5 3600 with a 2060 Super). I continue to be very happy with that machine for my own needs, and kind of stopped paying attention to new products, as all I was hearing was how inflated GPU prices have been since the...

Question 8TB drive not recognized in PC, but fine with laptop

So this post is from a long time ago, but I finally figured out what is going on! The HDD is fine... but because it's "shucked" from an external WD-case, I'm running into the "3.3v pin problem" that apparently folks have been running into with some WD drives. Here's a video (there are many...

[SOLVED] Which router to pair with Fios and Orbi?

Hi again -- thank you for the quick replies. I really do appreciate it. ... I shouldn't have called the Fios routers "crappy". I'm sure they do a good job. It's more the idea of renting a device that I'll end up paying for several times over without actually owning, that I don't like. But...

[SOLVED] Which router to pair with Fios and Orbi?

Hi – I’ve gotten great advice one these forums before and hope someone can help me out again. I’m a semi-literate computer person, but networking is a topic that I for some reason have a hard time getting my head around. In my current set-up, I have a 200mbs-plan from a big cable company...

Question 8TB drive not recognized in PC, but fine with laptop

Hi there, A few weeks ago, I built a new system, with everything seemingly working fine: • CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 • Mobo: Asus Tuf Gaming X570 Mobo (with Wifi) • GPU: MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G (what a difference from my old RX560!) • Memory: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws at DDR4-3600 (non-RGB) •...

[SOLVED] Do I need to clean install W10 after CPU and MoBo change?

Thank you all for the feedback, really appreciate it. I’ll take the “better safe than sorry” approach and do a clean install. :-). As others have pointed out, the W10 part is no biggie, it’s all the other stuff that takes time. But tomorrow is a day off, so there you go.
