Question Why does my monitor not show the BIOS splash screen?

It's a process of troubleshooting to narrow down the possibilities which are many at this point. It's not supposed to be a normal way to access BIOS anyways!

Question Why does my monitor not show the BIOS splash screen?

I found that whole fast boot thing unreliable. Sometimes even with fast boot on I was able to enter BIOS by pressing Del fast enough. The tricky thing is it's implemented at different levels on different systems. At OS level and at Firmware level or only at OS level. Depending upon where it's...

Question Why does my monitor not show the BIOS splash screen?

what if you remove (just disconnect) all hdd(s) /ssd (s) from your system. It has nowhere to go and it should land in BIOS ideally. If Windows q0, what if you instruct it to boot to BIOS thru update/ recovery options. You are not updating anything just instructing it to boot to BIOS. Do you...

Question Computer shutdown after a while after CMOS change battery

Basically what I meant is CMOS battery had nothing to do with pc shutting down. It's mere coincidence. As you figured out old thermal paste was the issue not CMOS battery.

I suggest if you are using Windows 10 or above on one of the existing SSDs, disable Fast Boot, and from Recovery options try to restart to UEFI (BIOS). If that does not work, disconnect all SSDs/HDDs and boot PC without any storage drives and check if you can enter BIOS. If your keyboard is...

    Question PC won't boot ?

If at their repair center it booted with 2666 native stick, then ask them to update BIOS and recheck with your RAM stick. Also reset BIOS to defaults by shorting pins on the mobo and check again. I believe when you say PC is not booting, you mean it powers on, all fans run but it does not POST...

Question PC not powering on ?

There's a very basic (Not that reliable) paperclip test for PSU. You can check that out, if PSU runs in paperclip test may be it means bad mobo or even a PSU that now fails to supply enough power under load. If PSU fails in paperclip test it means it fundamentally is not turning on. Are parts...

    [SOLVED] RAM and CAS Latency

Thanks. As per Amazon reviews users are commenting that the RAM can also work at CAS 17 at a specific speed, that made me wonder if 19 would automatically switch to 13 at 1800 as it has done for existing 4GB. But that one is from Samsung. But Crucial is silent about it. Looks like this data is...
