Because the age of the cpu i think you didn't change the thermal paste since a long time. The thermal paste not last forever, it would be a good idea to remove the cooler and replace the thermal compound (use a new good one). Have you checked if the fan is still working?

Thank you for the answer i owned a lot of external Hard disk and was never forced to assign the letter manually the problem is when i connect the drive to a pc where i do not have the admin privileges. in this case i don't know how to mount the Drive.
