I have the hyper 212 evo and i hit 4.6ghz stable at 1.45v with my 6300. Gets a bit warm for my liking so im at 4.5 with 1.43v. Not sure how this fairs with others. Using asrock 970 extreme 3 motherboard.

You should be fine. You would have noticed if it had been damaged by now. Ntm the 5xx cards run hot anyways.

jay2tall summed it up. The game is not as optomized as it should be. Just lower the settings a bit and wait for patches.

I second that. Using a hyper 212 evo, I have a fx 6300 running at 4.7 and even with p95 it never got hotter than 65.

With that watercooler, I would say if you are smart about it, 4.7 should be the max you will still be stable. Idk why you would need it that fast though. Haha

Anybody still want to recommend i3 over fx processors? 4.7 stable after 1 hour of prime95 and another 3 hours gaming. Cinebench score was 5.37 Cooler is a hyper 212 evo. Motherboard is a 970 extreme 3.

Im at 4.7 right now. i hit 5.1 as a max and it started to heat up. The fx6300 outperforms the i3 in every use i have for it, especially at these speeds. Its on the low end i5 levels now. Not a fanboy, just being realistic.

If you want to overclock, get an i5 k series or an fx black edition processor. the i3s are locked.
