Hello guys! I just wanted to post back. After replacing the original CPU fan with a desktop one, the noise was reduced by 70% which was good enough for the noisy server to be used as a desktop. I found a very cheap fan on eBay...

I actually swapped the CPU fan with a desktop one (3610KL-04W-B56 ). It is working under about the same temperature and the fan is super quite. I am going to put the computer under full load to see the computer behavior and I will report back.

I also used a Pentium 4 650 3.4GHz processor but the computer still works loudly. I tried a Pentium E2200 but the computer did not even boot.

I found the original hard drive that had the Windows Server 2003 operating system. I tried running it but the computer is still very loud. Just like Windows 7.

It seems that I can do nothing to make the AMD HD7570 graphic card boot on this DX4870 computer...

This is an old computer but Hyper Threading would be a great upgrade.

The price of the i5 2500 doubles the i3 3220 price. Is it worthy the investment??
