For the most part there all the same. Jut get one that fits and has good reviews. Detachable antennas are good if you want to attach a large antenna or to use a cable to move the antenna somewhere with a better connection (such as on top of your desk instead of under it).

By "not boot" do you mean no image or do fans spin up because you may have just installed the wrong drivers in which case you will need to use on-board graphics or borrow a GPU from a friend.

It will probably work as long as you don't switch between HDD and SSD because it can be glitchy

Ive had decent luck getting windows 8 to boot but if you need a very reliable machine I would recommend to refresh windows 8 by going to Charm bar>Settings>General>Advanced Start-up>Troubleshooting, assuming it will boot at all. MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE you even open the PC.
