    [SOLVED] USB issue

W Windows 11 and my hardware is in the signature. The switched hub isnt the issue but its a Sabrent 4 port hub with individual power switches. As I said I confirmed the issue by using the ports on the back of the motherboard. Weirdly the issue seemed to resolve itself. I have absolutely...

    [SOLVED] USB issue

For some reason if I plug a USB device in while my computer is on it isnt detected. At first I thought it was just my USB external drive, but then my webcam wouldn't work (they are on a switched usb hub) so I confirmed this by unplugging my mouse and plugging it back in on the motherboard usb...

    storahci.sys causing blue screen

I wanted to post an update, seems to be an issue with the SATA controllers, seems to be the ASMedia ones, I have found several threads about it, and looks like the only real work around right now is to use the chipset SATA ports and disable the ASMedia ones all together...

    storahci.sys causing blue screen

Swapped out the old Seagate for a Crucial SSD but still have the problem. I still have another 4TB Seagate HDD in the computer but I ran SeaTools and the drive checked out, also checked for a new firmware for it but its up to date. Found a reddit post of someone with the exact same issue, I...

    storahci.sys causing blue screen

Thanks for all the help, hot swap was disabled in the BIOS. I did change the port and made sure all teh cables were firmly pressed in. Your right it could be the drive, I'm looking at ditching the HDD anyway for a full SSD computer but was trying to hold off as long as I could. Might just go...

    storahci.sys causing blue screen

Seems to be an issue with some AMD boards/AMD builds . Ive looked around and the only real fix seems to be turning off drive sleep. Also learned AMD doesn't actually make SATA drivers anymore and just uses the standard Microsoft ones, which when I check mine seem to be from 2006 ( version...

    New build bluescreen crashes

    storahci.sys causing blue screen

Didnt mean to double post but thought I should add some more details and a new post seemed easier, I keep getting sporadic bluescreen crashes, seems to be mostly when I leave my computer and it goes to sleep, I know because it will be on the login screen when I come back. I then checked the...

    New build bluescreen crashes

I just built a new machine with a clean install of Windows 11 but it seems to be randomly crashing and rebooting. My previous build was a Intel 7700K build and now the new one is an AMD one. I did bring over a few data drives that have games on them but otherwise everything is fresh including...

Question Which gaming laptop should I buy ?

Desktop. Seriously unless you absolutely have to have the portability, a desktop is a better choice. Its upgradable, quieter, runs cooler and will almost always be more powerful at any given price point. Otherwise at 700 bucks youll probably have to look at an Acer or maybe a MSI if they...

Question Is my GPU dead ?

Sounds like the card is dead if plugging a HDMI cable in the mobo video works. Does the 1060 even show up in the device manager?
