    BTW looking at a few years ahead, what would prevail: Two 290s CF in pci 3.0 / pci 2.0 respectivly OR single nvidia 780 TI ??

    Thanks for pionting that out, I have tought about it but wasn't sure how much signficant it is, still two cards in diffrent pci bus speeds would be better than one card of the same specs. Any recomendation for a new board with two pci 3.0 crossfire enabled?

    OK, I think I'll see how my rig handles one r9 290 in terms of power consumption/heat, and if all is well I'll add another 290 in CF. Worst case I'll get a better PSU.

    It is not the last comment Unknownofprob, I allready have 3 monitors. Thanks plaintuts, those 50 Watts will make a difference? or those PSU's you've mentioned have better current supply quality over my GS?

    I think that after summing up your insights on this issue, I'll get the 290 now! and maybe get anther 290 later or wait for 800 series. I have a Corsair GS800 PSU, will it hold two 290's?
