    If you want future proof, go with the RTX 2060, RTX technology isn't fully available yet but it definitely will be the future for games. I'd pay the extra $20 and get the 9700k as well just for the sole reason that's it's more new and it's an 8 core

    Are you sure the CPU is getting the right cooler when it's under high load, You've said it crashes when playing games, but does it crash at idle? You may need to reapply thermal paste

    When you buy the CPU, you're going from a 4th gen to an 8th gen so the sockets will be different, just wanted to remind you about motherboard and ram compatibility

    If you have the old motherboard still, you could unscrew the CPU Cooler locking brackets and attach them to the new motherboard, that's one way i could think of, if it's am3+ though, they should fit.

    Well you're running new hardware on 9 year old hard drives, is the OS installed to the SSD? If not you should format the SSD, install windows onto it, set it as you boot drive and then use the HDDs as your storage for everything else
