IMHO, put the OS on the 80GB and use the 250GB for apps and games. This way if your OS takes a dump you arent spending as much as you would on the HDD's as you would on kleenex when it does.

Im currently using to Rap's on a Nforce 4 SLI chipset (nVidia controller) and 2GB ram, and A64 3500, boots from cold in approx 20-30 seconds. The raps I have are the "old" 8mb cache 74GB. Im impressed with it.

First, does the board give any type of BIOS beep errors, or just does not power on at all. Also have you used the same PSU on both boards you are testing? And how long did you let the CMOS clear for, sometimes it can take a while (couple minutes to completly discharge).

Concerned about the memory? I say run Windows Memory Diagnostic, on the advanced test. And also Memtest86+. See what those tell you. Also check if the RAm is being controlled by SPD, or if you have to change some timings on the RAM, maybe loosen them up a little.

Actually, the dealing with my retailer was quite unsatisfactory as they almost automatically pawned me off to AMD. However it was a great relife how easy, and simple it was to RMA with AMD. And btw, your signature is quite possibly the best on THG forums

Hi everyone. I had an issue earlier regarding what I thought was a memory issue. However after several diagnostics, and formats, and lost hair, I have found out some info I would like to share. I was getting memory errors from WMD and my system was failing to load my OS about half the time...

No I am not using a external reciver with DI input. All I can tell you is that it features decoders for DTS, and 5.1. No options for an encoder that I have found so far. Ill tool around with it and let you know.

Simplest resolution, download DFT using another rig, burn the iso, and insert it prior to OS boot. Follow the prompt, use advanced test and it will let you know if the HDD is good or bad. (some maxtor/seagates dont like DFT drive fitness test, so check out seagate diagnostics too)
