Turns out I hadn't completely deleted the storage space. Once I did, the drive appeared in disk management and I was able to format it normally. I don't know why it wasn't appearing there in the first place. Thanks for the help; I'm glad I didn't just leave it in the storage pool.

It was the only drive in the storage pool. I deleted it, but now the drive is not appearing in disk management anymore.

Should I select the new storage space in disk management and click format?
