Question Storage Spaces

Hello all,

I recently installed a Samsung 980 Pro M.2 drive in my older Gigabyte AB350 motherboard. I put my two existing SSDs in the lower two SATA ports, as I read the upper ones are disabled when using an M.2 drive. When I booted up I was unable to view the new drive in disk management or in file explorer. It did however, appear normally in the BIOS and in the device manager. I tried opening Storage Spaces, and while the new drive didn't appear at first, when I tried "Create a new storage space" it let me do this with the new drive, and the storage space now appears in disk management and file explorer. It seems like I can use the drive this way; should I just leave it be, or is there something else I should be doing? Thanks for advice.

Turns out I hadn't completely deleted the storage space. Once I did, the drive appeared in disk management and I was able to format it normally.

I don't know why it wasn't appearing there in the first place.

Thanks for the help; I'm glad I didn't just leave it in the storage pool.
