Many factors could cause the psu to begin to fail. Different cards are pulling power at different amps. At this point you are on a nearly 5 year old psu. If you take the psu out and power the pc up, does it do the same thing? Either way you have a rail on the psu failing.

It’s all about the load on the system. As it goes up, there is a higher draw from the psu. It could be something else. You can always get another psu and return it if your problem is still there. Amazon is great for that.

So you used the old hard drive with the new hardware. Did you update the drivers to match the new hardware? Chipset drivers are a good place to start. Don’t use the ones that came with your motherboard. They are usually old, get the latest from the support site for your board.

I had a similar issue this week where I was limited to 200 mb. I found that my deco had QOS enabled and the cap set at 200. Once I disabled it, everything went back to 800. Might not be your issue, but it’s easy to check.

I’ve run into this when a power related issue is present. Can you try another psu? I worked for a pc manufacture for years and I would say that 9 out of 10 issues like this were fixed with a different psu.

That was the intent, but the OS would not always scale the two cards as one. If applications were not coded, or even properly coded, SLI would add no benefit. I ran it for years and finally gave up because the cost of implementation was just too high for the minimal gains I would get.

Some people are very sensitive to lower frames. For me, lower frame rates cause motion sickness. I don’t have the issue with movies, but I want to hurl while playing anything under 40 or so.
