You can do that when installing the newest driver by selecting "fresh install" and it clears the old versions I believe.

You've made sure all your drivers are up to date? That might be causing the issue. Make sure you have Geforce Experience installed and hit the drivers tab and make sure its up to date. Either that or download the latest driver from the Nvidia website.
