When i run a game it runs like a slideshow , the afterburner graph for gpu usage shows small peaks in between but the usage is effectively zero. Is afterburner a reliable way to check whether the gpu is doing any processing ?

The cable is plugged into the gpu. I have also tried with a different hdmi cable but there's no difference.
