I know it's better for sure to use a dedicated 6-pin, but is it safe to at least test it with the card? The worst it can do is not supply enough power to the graphics card, so it won't display. I don't think its possible to damage it with too little power in this regard? edit Is it at least...

I guess the only other thing I’d be worried about, do you think I should stick with the 1TB one they shipped, or get the 512GB and upgrade to a 1TB (because of speeds)? Because I doubt that the drive it comes with is a Samsung 970 Evo or Pro, which would be best.
