I have a Galax GTX970 HOF, and I am very impressed with it. Boost at stock is 1430Mhz. Also has a Turbo switch, though I have not used that yet. The card is made to OC, some reviews state that it can almost reach GTX980 speeds.

Open CCC and see if your monitor supports RGB 4:4:4 (FULL RGB) It is under the `pixel format` tab. For my monitor this gives me a more dynamic color range and makes the dark not so dark if that makes any sense :)

svchost are not infections - they are services running on your PC. Keep the PC and watch out for better parts that may come along. Escpecially CPU`s. Windows 7 works fine on older systems, try it if you have a copy.

Have you moved location since you had good downloads speeds? Do you have good reception? Do you know how far away the tower is? An external antenna can be a huge improvement.

Update- I bought an Asus GTX750 PH OC 1GB for the Medion, thanks for the suggestion, no probs with power.
