technically windows is install on a HDD/SSD so you could do without, that being said for driver compatibility and hassle free migration i would reinstall a fresh version of windows. that way you neglect the risk of driver messing with each other and such

in other word, the 480 is around 60-80$ more expansive than my 1060( if amazon send me the rebate) so let's forgot for a moment that i own the card, if i were to choose between a 1060 and a 480 that is 60-80$ more which card would you reccomend
