I've fixed it now, i had the old hard drive plugged in as a slave drive, un-plugged it, no more probs... should have mentioned that in original post, Duhhhhhhh ... thx for replies though :)

As a new user to these forums i can't help getting the idea that most ppl that post on here look forward to the part of the post where they have to say what spec they're PC is, so i just thought i'd make this thread so people don't have to wait any longer! I love playing PC games as i'm sure...

I too have had this problem, it seems to occur if you have OS's installed on any plugged in slave drives, but sorry, i don't know the solution...

Doesn't sound good.. If you really need the data from it, try contacting a data recovery company.. I work in Computer Forensics, the tools u need to recover the data are as follows:- Tableau Write Blocker FTK Imager DeepSpar or PC3000 However, these tools are extremely expensive.. Good Luck!

Hey Guys.. Bout a week ago, my 7 yr old western digital hard drive started doing this thing, where it'd click, then make a sound that sounds like the head on the drive is losing its place, or the drive is stopping spinning, cant quite work out which it is, the result is the computer will hang...
