so a new psu should fix?

the old one is five years old, which leads be to believe it died rather than a mobo issue. and by jumper do you recommend using a wire or cable to cable. so from what i have said you came to a dead psu like i have?

I believe my psu has died since i am unable to boot my pc, the lights around the power buttons flash and the cpu fan begins to spin for a moment. i believe getting a new psu will fix this but since i dont have a spare compatible one i wanted to ask for others opinions before i go buy one to test.

it didnt power itself off, i simply wont start after i powered it down earlier

i want the toshiba because that would allow me to play more games and there is not that great of a difference between the two cpus

ive heard though the the i5 is to much stronger than the a8, so the added gpu is better. also if you know of any laptops for around that price that are an i5 and dedicated gpu then a link would be much appreciated

this laptop is just aimed at being able to do my uni work on, as well as being able to play some games on medium or low if possible but with about 30fps which would be better for that purpose Toshiba...
