The 4790k is just a hot chip. Mine has been running at full load around 85c for the last 3-4 years on water cooling. I remember when i purchased the chip countless threads about the heat generated from the 4790k.

What's MSI's warranty like? I would find the ceiling that you can can overclock & power limits that keeps you running in the temp range reported as standard/acceptable in the manual... and just run them at that. If it starts to fail @ stock speeds RMA it.

Before looking at your case and all of the other stuff, what program are you currently using to monitor your GPU temps and control fan speed? What is your GPU fan speed at when your temps are that high?

One night, about a month after building my last monster rig, i forgot to put msi afterburner on "auto" and left Farcry 4 running overnight. My card ran at +90c for like 9 hours in a row....after that my card was always like 10 degrees hotter. So i think there is some wear and tear after a while...
