Question Nvidia rtx 3060ti crashes pc at idle

I had a thread on here last year and the solution was to set "prefer maximum performance" in Nvidia control panel. It's something to do with how the 30 series cards handle voltage on certain chipsets. Try setting that option and report back.

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

Good to know. Yeah, you're right because now that I think of it the last thing I changed was the power management mode and haven't had a single crash since.

Question RTX 3060 TI KO OC does not stay with fans on

I think it's because it's an overclocked card it needs to run around 45. Mines sits at 48% idle but I literally can't hear it because it's so quiet.

Question RTX 3060 TI KO OC does not stay with fans on

30 series cards seem to run with the fans off until they need to turn on. Mines does the same. I use MSI Afterburner with an Asus card it works fine. The little A button on control in your setting should be dark and not grey like in your pic. Toggle that setting and it should run all the time...

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

I just wanted to provide a little update to my issues in this thread. I've not had a crash for quite a while. Since the last time I mentioned in this post. I'm not sure if it was from the power management mode being changed or from constant Nvidia driver updates which possibly ironed out the...

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

I've seen a handful of people mention this on other forums. Do you know which power saving features in the Nvidia control panel I should try disabling? Cheers.

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

Just had another PC lock up while watching Youtube. Been a while since the last crash so I've decided to dip into savings and purchase a new PSU. I picked up a 850W Corsair RM850x and will report if I experience more crashes in the future.

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

I saw a lot of people mention it could be based on browser because like a year ago Nvidia patched an issue with this same problem where people would get this crash when browsing on Chrome. I was using Firefox and have since switched to Chrome and haven't had a crash since my last post. I also...

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

I just want to use a new 30 series card for RTX features in newer titles. This is the 2nd but different brand/model of card with the exact same problems so I will try the PSU replacement and hopefully it sorts it. I've got my fingers crossed.

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

I checked back on the reddit thread I posted in my original post and it seems that a bunch of people are saying this is still happening. Even after replacing the PSU. I'm starting to think it's some kind of fault with ASUS components and RTX 30 series. I will still try changing the PSU when I...

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

That's the weird thing I never get crashing when playing games. It only ever happens when I'm idle watching videos. I don't have a computer repair store close to me so I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a new PSU hoping that will solve the problem.

[SOLVED] RTX 3060 good enough for 3440x1440 high setting 60fps?

I'm currently using a 3060 Ti for 2560x1440 and can play most of my games maxed out above 60 FPS. Sometimes a lot higher 120+ depending on what game it is so I think a 3060 Ti would be better suited. It's much faster than a normal 3060

Question Still crashing while idle or watching videos, even after changing the GPU ?

Hey again, opening my thread back up because I ran into another crash when watching Twitch. Sound started going all glitchy and buzzing for seconds while it was locking up and just eventually crashed and black screened. Had to manually reset the PC. BIOS was default settings. Uploaded mini dump...
