Question High temps after double repaste

UPDATE 2 I've done a third repaste. Temps still hit high 97 degrees. A test in AIDA64 shows some thermal throttling. At this point i'm at a loss of words, i don't understand what the issue can be, but something is definitely not doing its job as intended. Any thoughts?

Question High temps after double repaste

UPDATE Temps reached 98 degrees again. At this point I can't figure out what the issue could be. I repasted the thing twice, once putting too much paste and the second time putting just the bare minimum, in both cases it doesn't seem like it made a difference. I have not touched the thermal...

Question High temps after double repaste

No, i didn't touch the thermal pads. Do thermal paste have break in periods? I've never heard of this before. Quick update, last night while gaming temps topped out at 90 for the CPU and 70 for the GPU. Maybe you're onto something...

Question High temps after double repaste

I'd have to open up the laptop again to take a picture, but i tried to spread as thin a layer as possible the second time around (as per the instructions included in the thermal paste packaging), and yes, i applied paste ONLY on the CPU and GPU, not on the heat sink.

Question High temps after double repaste

So i've recently decided to repaste my laptop (approaching on 1 year old and on factory paste), a Lenovo Legion 5 (Core i7-10750h, RTX 3050 Ti). I've chosen the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme for the job. All went well, however after the first repaste temps looked much higher! BF2042 pushed...

    [SOLVED] Broken motherboard connector

I'm sure of that however it's not for me to decide as it's someone else's laptop. My question was if breaking off that top part of the connector could have impacted in some way hdd transfer speeds.

    [SOLVED] Broken motherboard connector

Hi all, Today i set about opening up my friend's (extremely budget) laptop to give it a good clean and upgrade its horribly underpowered 4 gb of Ram . I came about a cable that connects the storage solutions (HDD, DVD drive) to the Mobo. Unaware of the type of connector (thought it was a...

[SOLVED] CPU and GPU to 100% throtteling in games

This might sound stupid but are you gaming on Wi-Fi? It should be noted that multi-player on Wi-Fi is much slower and laggy than ethernet, try connecting through cable and see how games run

    Question Acer Nitro 5 overheating

The offset I'm running is -0.125, I haven't tried going lower as from what I've researched that's the limit for my specific cpu. Overall I'm happy with it, Temps are lower and performance hasn't decreased a bit.

[SOLVED] CPU overheat really fast when playing high intensitive games

As a laptop owner I also had overheating issues recently, but my Temps were hitting 100 degrees and my CPU was throttling. Besides repasting the heatsink I also recommend undervolting, it dropped my Temps a further 10 degrees with no performance downgrade. And keep in mind that my cpu also has...

Question My core 2 quad is under preforming.

That's a terrible attitude to be having towards a forum of people trying to give you advice on how to proceed. Mine was a reality check, considering you said your core 2 Quad is better than an I3, which is a false statement. You aren't going to run any recent games on your system and that's the...

[SOLVED] High CPU usage while playing games

Have you checked Temps? Fps spikes are usually an indicator of your CPU throttling. Hence why reducing the resolution also takes some load off the gpu and CPU. Your CPU is most probably getting over-stressed by the game and it's overheating

[SOLVED] High CPU usage while playing games

Well I would say being a newer game it's putting your CPU through the paces, some games are more CPU intensive and others more GPU intensive. My CPU is at a constant 100% usage and even gets hotter than usual while playing BF5, it being such a CPU intensive game.
