Migrating a whole HDD to an SSD?

Hello guuyyss :D I have a confession to make. Despite owning a gaming PC since mid 2013 and despite learning how to put together a PC from top to bottom and helping other people with their PCs, I don't have an SSD. I know. Now I want to take the leap so pitchforks away please. I'd be looking...

Pretty sure my motherboard is dead.....

I just remembered this thread and thought I'd update on what's happened since. So I got fed up and took it to a local PC repair guy. He looked it over and told me the motherboard was fine and he had simply reset the bios using a jumper pin. Mine also had one missing so he gave one to me for...

Pretty sure my motherboard is dead.....

I will try this in the case to see if it makes a difference. The humming would get louder and quieter all the time whilst using the PC. It was more of a vibrating to be honest. It would go down in volume greatly after taking off the side panels but if you put your hand to the back, you could...

    Monitor randomly loses display?

I think I'll take it to a shop near me that diagnoses for free. You're right. It's the only way to rule out faulty components completely. Thanks for the input ;)

    Monitor randomly loses display?

So can I definitely rule out an issue with my PSU? As I say, the GPU is still inside and plugged in with power to it. The only difference is that I'm using on board GPU instead of dedicated. Unfortunately, I have no other system to try it in :(

    Monitor randomly loses display?

It's not the monitor. Tested this. There are no weird temp increases or decreases in either GPU or CPU. Used driver cleaning software to clean out every trace of remaining drivers and installed fresh ones. Haven't tried a new PSU or GPU. It did make an intermittent whirring sound then went...

Can I boot my Windows PC from an External HDD via USB?

I already have a 500GB HDD installed and working perfectly. But I was wondering what I would do if it randomly blows up. So I ordered a 2TB Western Digital My Book for backup. I plan to clone my HDD to the External HDD. Can I boot up Windows normally using only the USB 3.0 connected External...

I have two new 4GB RAM sticks and an old 2GB stick. Can I use them together to give me 10 Gbs of RAM?

All three are Kingston sticks but the new ones I've got are some Hyper X type and the 2 GB one is plain Kingston RAM. Can I use all three together on the same motherboard?
