    GPU waterblock causing the problem?

Apologies, I thought I had closed this thread sometime ago. Just to let you know that the problem was to do with the screws for the water block! They were too long, therefore the block didn't actually press tight enough to the GPU and so took no time to overheat and produce the symptoms...

    GPU waterblock causing the problem?

Hi, I finally put my waterblock on my graphics card yesterday. I can't remember the name of them both except to the say the card is a mid-range (I'll find out after I go home tonight and update if need be) one. The problem is, a shortwhile after the PC manages to boot into Windows, it switches...

Apologies if this thread is best served in another forum but this one seemed to me to be the most relevant one and I am becoming desperate! It might be me just being thick but I simply cannot find a provider that will allow the following. All I'm looking for is a FTP server (if that's the...

Hi, Just to let you know, it's working now but don't know why. I remember this happened to me a long time ago (with a different rig). Grey bars showing during a very slow boot process

That's just it, I haven't. However, what did happen was the PC crashing for no apparent reason and from then on it has been like this. In fact it refused to boot at all so I initially I had to install XP on another hard drive to recover my own files (no back up!) but for no apparent reason...

Advice on getting the best out of a XP hard drive

Are there any good general rules when installing XP regarding the size of a hard drive? My hard drive is 200GB. I'm wondering if it's advantageous to install XP in its own partition, say 20GB? Then, install software like games and keep My Documents folder on another, so if I ever had to...

Grey bars showing during a very slow boot process

Hello When a PC is reaches the stage when it is supposed to start displaying the XP loading screen, mine doesn't. Instead the screen goes black for a minute and then displays small grey bars spaced out equally straight across the bottom of my screen. It seems to be a progress bar because very...
