New Rig - Why does every option have a downside?

wait, I'm pretty sure you can run dual 9800gtx+ is SLI with the X58 chipset (depends on the motherboard though) correct me if I'm wrong

Gaming and Video editing in one

Allright, well you could go with a core 2 duo to cut down on costs, but I would go with trying to find a cheap core 2 quad. next, there are some good deals, especially today, on monitors (as its cyber monday or whatever) here are some links for some 22 inchers...

Second hardrive for OS and second video card for physics?

yeah, I'm probably not gonna do it. It would get a lot more complex and probably expensive, and I have a pretty tight budget

    My new budget build

by the way, don't buy corsair memory with that motherboard, because apparently, it won't work I know that you're buying OCZ memory, but I'm just saying, don't buy corsair memory (for that motherboard)

    new to building computers

That CPU isn't bad, but it's a year old, so you might want to look at a newer core 2 duo. As well, you might want to look into a newer graphics card, but that card IS very well priced after the rebate as for a motherboard, I would reccomend looking at one with the p45 chipset

Adivice on a dual Xeon system.

aren't the xeon's more of an enterprise CPU meant for like workstations? I would suggest selling them and then you would have like $750 which could easily be spend on an i7 920, or a 940 or, throw in some money and get the i7 extreme (however, the 940 and the extreme aren't the best value)...

Second hardrive for OS and second video card for physics?

ok, so I've heard a lot of people saying to get a second hardrive just for OS data for faster boot ups and to get a second graphics card just for physics. Both of these would be beneficial to me as faster startups are always good, and I do play some games so having a card for graphics and putting...

    yet another build advice topic..

$75? WOW...that's actually a really good price. Are they still available? I might pick one up for a future lower-end build for my grandparents if I become proficient with putting together computers.

Please critque and advise me on my first build

oh yeah, a monitor: this is what I was thinking: http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Monitors/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=cadhs1&sku=320-6272 it's a 24' dell "Ultrasharp", it's their "premium" line and has won some awards and I've read some really good reviews. It's got tons of...

    yet another build advice topic..

I'd try to fix that weird script stuff you have going on in that post but in regards to that AMD CPU, my buddy recently got that exact same one, and so did a lot of people I know actually (was it on sale or something?) anyways, he says he really likes it, so good choice.

About to order these parts for my 1st build...

lol, what's with all this n/r/ stuff? It happened in one of my posts as well and yeah, I think it has something to do with copying and pasting links

Please critque and advise me on my first build

lmao, you don't think the RAM is a bit too "hardcore"? Because I'm not really sure about it, I mean, I only plan on doing some mid-level gaming, mostly just other stuff, and that RAM, I think, is for the enthusiast?

Can you guys please critique my system! thank you!

if you're into Antec's cases, they have a 1200 model that's newer than their 900. Normally, it probably wouldn't matter, but since you're building a gaming PC it would probably be beneficial for you.
