I only do it for a clean install. I just use the windows 10 boot install cmd clean function so I don’t leave any stray files I moved. You don’t need special software to wipe. The cmd can simply zero out your drive but takes forever depending on size

Try doing a complete reinstall of windows 10. Don’t do the reset everything button. Just boot install. The update may have corrupted your laptop in some way.

The cpus are not very memory sensitive, the ram should be fine. Going past 2400 for intel is just diminishing returns. If you’re willing to take a risk and delid your cpu($40/50 for kit or razor method $5) you can save some money on a cheaper cooler if you plan on overclocking
