    Thank you so much! I ran the commands as you said, but got the message "Total identified Windows installations: 0". I googled and found this. I followed steps 5 through 9, and now it works! Thanks a lot!

    I uninstalled Java using Revo, and installed the newest 32-bit version from filehippo. No change. After that, I reset my firefox with the Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Reset firefox to its default state. No change. EDIT: Also just completely reinstalled firefox. No change.

    I uninstalled java, and the addon seemed to disappear with it. I restarted, and reinstalled. No change.

    I added the site to the trusted list, and the 'Scripting of Java applets' is enabled. Still no change.

    Hmm, no, I don't get such a window. The log-in box is just white and blank, and firefox slows to a near halt, and can only be completely closed through the task manager. Yes its a home PC, and I do have admin rights.

    I tried un-blocking pop-ups but that did nothing. Under Add-ons there is an addon called Java Platform SE 7 U21, which is enabled.
