Possible failing PSU but not sure

It was my GPU. I uprgraded to GTX 970 and all is well...for now.

*possible PSU problem* GPU - no signal to monitor after launching game BUT Furmark stress test runs fine.

Wish I could test it like that but it's me myself and I with a PC. I just ordered an EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0+ I can run games just fine if I underclock my 570 with EVGA Precision. I have to turn ingame settings down for FPS but it's OK for now. BIOS says my +12v rail is fine. I don't think it's...

Possible failing PSU but not sure

EVGA GTX 790 is ordered and on the way. If it's not a PSU problem this new card will be all I need, and if it is a PSU problem I'll just get a new PSU and wait a few days. I can game with an underclocked card and lower settings in the meantime.

Possible failing PSU but not sure

Stock clock is 732 core, 1464 shader, 1900 memory. I underclock it considerably right now to 405, 810, 1325 (minimum in EVGA Precision). Haven't tried settings in between because it's so damned annoying to have to hard reset the PC all the time. If those minimum settings work for now I figure...

Possible failing PSU but not sure

Driver is NVIDIA's latest one from the 28th I think? A few days ago. I also used DDU to clean out any old ones lingering. It's not a driver or software issue, I can almost guarantee it. I also thought about the resolution but my games are set to 1920x1080, same as my desktop, and they work so...

Possible failing PSU but not sure

So you guys think it's the GPU? Hmm. When I ran Furmark I used 1920x1080 with 8x AA. That's what I use for games as it's my monitor's native resolution. It's not exactly the most stressful res to run Furmark with but I wanted to see if could indeed handle what I do normally. 1920x1080 is a...

Possible failing PSU but not sure

My GPU (GTX 570) has been losing signal every time I try to play a game. It works fine when I stress it with Furmark but games cause it to lose signal. Everything else like audio still works when the signal is lost, and the GPU fan continues to spin (but reverts to lowest RPM), it's only the...

*possible PSU problem* GPU - no signal to monitor after launching game BUT Furmark stress test runs fine.

Does nobody know? Does this sound like a problem easily fixed with a new PSU? If I can wait until the summer to upgrade my GPU I will. I want to upgrade both but this summer might see a GPU price drop.

*possible PSU problem* GPU - no signal to monitor after launching game BUT Furmark stress test runs fine.

So I underclocked my card considerably and games work now. That sounds like a PSU problem then right? I was thinking about replacing mine with http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Supply-220-G2-0650-Y1/dp/B0106RDIN2. It's 100 less watts but I don't think it will matter with a new GTX...

*possible PSU problem* GPU - no signal to monitor after launching game BUT Furmark stress test runs fine.

I ran a Furmark stress test just now for 40 minutes and everything is fine, but when I try to play a game the GPU seems to crap out and I lose signal to the monitor requiring a hard reset. I have a GTX 570 (which I want to upgrade soon, more on that later) and a Corsair HX 750 PSU (or HW 750 I...

Freebie Friday - Thermaltake Cronos Headset

Yeah until they start screwing with you :) Let's just say that I'm still mostly skeptical. Most "ghost" encounters are something else like a headlight reflection off the highway or a creaky cellar door or something. But when they screw with my computer and I cut my foot because of it, they've...

Freebie Friday - Thermaltake Cronos Headset

Weird but 100% true story: I lived in a haunted house. Dead serious, you'd have to have lived there to know what I mean. My electronics used to be messed with all the time, the most common being my CD player turning on and off and it's door opening and closing. My dresser drawers would open and...
