Is this a pro version of Windows? You should be able to set in the control panel some where perhaps a firewall rule you can edit or under another part of the control panel under windows update to force it not to install anything automatically. Then on the windows update section when it prompts...

The case holds the most personality how about letting us know what case floats your boat then we can pick the stuff for you to put into it! I personally don't like selecting cases for others because I feel that's where most of the personal style comes from.
