    Mellanox ConnectX-3 QSFP+ to Myriacom 10gbe SFP+

Thanks for the reply. At the very least, I know two windows workstations should be able to link up with the Mellanox Connect. The protocol is IP over infiniband. I went through the driver setup a few times. Initially, it needed more, and windows told me that. Plugged two workstations in to...

    Mellanox ConnectX-3 QSFP+ to Myriacom 10gbe SFP+

Ideally, I’m trying to connect the workstations with the Mellanox with 40gbe. And the Mac Workstations myricom to Mellanox with 10gbe, eventually 40gbe. Starting to think consumer 10gbe nic May be better, but hoping for a solution to the current.

    Mellanox ConnectX-3 QSFP+ to Myriacom 10gbe SFP+

I started out with the cable you linked. That’s when I confused myself and I’ve been confused since. I misspoke in my first post. I have 3 Workstations with Mellanox ConnectX-3, Two Mac Workstations with the Myricom 10GBE - correction is that it is QSFP, not SFP. And one thunderbolt enclosure...

    Mellanox ConnectX-3 QSFP+ to Myriacom 10gbe SFP+

I’m trying to find the right way to connect the two. So many cables and adapters. I’ve got Mellanox ConnectX-3’s In my windows workstations and myriacom 10gbe SFP+ in my MacOS workstations. Can’t get them connected yet. I’ve tried a few cables, with no luck. The latest was qsfp+ to qfsp+...

    Booting m.2 x16 raid 0

Did you ever get it to work? My Hyper m.2 Card is gathering dust. Very little info out there. I found if 2 nvme’s Are used, they must be installed in slot 1 & 3. I was never able to get 3 or 4 NvME’s to even be recognized

    Raid 5 vs 10 performance

Also depends on what RAID Card you use, which I didn’t realize, until recently, was that HUGE of a difference. I tried a few low-to mid range cards at first, with 8 4TB ironwolf pro’s. The performance in RAID 10 was substandard. Maxed out around 500 mb/s. I tried using the card alone...

Advanced RAID Setup - Help! Bad Performance Results

Thanks for the additional info! I know it is overkill, I’ll use it for other things as well. I built a new system, and had this leftover, so I figured I’d repurpose it instead of sell it. This raid will only Contain about 2tb of critical data. For the most part it is going to be used for fast...

Advanced RAID Setup - Help! Bad Performance Results

I’ll pick up the LSI card. I have a 4 port LSI and a few other cards that worked well, but I needed 10 ports on one card, as I didn’t want to waste a pcie slot. This isn’t for super fast storage though. I have an additional ssd raid and NvME raid configured with windows that performs...

Advanced RAID Setup - Help! Bad Performance Results

I’m in need of advice on the struggling performance of a custom NAS I finally finished building. It took me a month to design and build, and it’s awful. I could have bought 3 QNAP thunderbolt NAS’ for the price this cost me to build, so I am really kicking myself right now. With so much money...

I’m in a causal loop of no boot safeboot boot loops

Thanks so much for the tips. The Optane 900p is my OS Drive. The Optane M10 is is the accelerator for the internal 6tb hdd. I never could get the optane m10 to initialize properly, so I took it out of the equation. I'm just sending it back. It's caused too much hassle for the rare usage, and...

I’m in a causal loop of no boot safeboot boot loops

Quite a situation here. I moved myself recently from always a Mac, to giving PC a shot. Loved it until yesterday. System was working fine. Decided to do my final piece of hardware install, adding an optane memory module, which has to be one of the poorest defined, explained, and implemented...
