Hi, this is the CX550M, meaning it is modular; i.e. you can add/remove cables as per your liking. It is equal to, if not better than the CX550. I can vouch for this PSU, I use it in my daily build.

Definitely. The stock cooler must have been made keeping in mind the cooling requirement of that card. Dust and grime for all those years must have had clogged up the heatsink and the thermal paste would have gone past its intended use period. IMO, cleaning the GPU and the heatsinks properly...

I had this same problem when I used a trash PSU, went away once I switched to a CX550. List your PSU please. Also, I've had this problem when I turned on heavy loads on the same line as a PC. It may be power related is what I'm saying.

Edit: Since you mentioned that this GPU is from an old PC and the old PC had no such issues; I'd not mark the GPU as a problem just yet.

Try running a malware scan; your PC may have got infected with a miner that's using your GPU. I'd recommend using malwarebytes.
