For indoor use the 260 nits should be good as long as there isn't too much direct sunlight from a window or something, but really shouldn't be anything that will make it a huge problem, outdoors however yeah it might be a little bit too dim although I'm sure it's doable.

It's a 120gb drive, I still have 30gb left on it so that shouldn't be the issue. I think I may just have to buy a new SSD. I looked this up before and people don't seem to have nearly as much of an issue as I do.

I went into the BIOS and AHCI mode is enabled. Could there be any other issues as to why it's so slow or is it maybe just time to get a new SSD?
