[SOLVED] Is My Hard Drive Still Healthy?

Some good points. The 2TB is almost full, so it's not about backing up for me, so much as buying a replacement drive. If there's a reason to. I.e. if the health of this one necessitates it. I would like to replace it with an SSD, but I'm not sure if the chip shortage is driving up the prices of...

[SOLVED] Is My Hard Drive Still Healthy?

Haha! An achievement for sure. Since it's 11 years old, you can tell it's only been shut down some nights. Would I be able to do that recovery myself? I figured that'd be really hard unless data recovery software was already installed before it died. Or that I'd need professional help.

[SOLVED] Is My Hard Drive Still Healthy?

Good point. I'll perhaps put more important stuff on a different storage device. The vital things are already backed up in multiple ways. To have it all, I'd need another 2TB drive, basically, since this one is almost at capacity. Might as well replace it at that point then. Could you explain...

[SOLVED] Is My Hard Drive Still Healthy?

Haha! Fair enough. :) I was just worried that the readings were inaccurate, and all along its failure was just around the corner, and I'd lose the data on it. Impressive it's lasted this long! Perhaps cause it's never been a boot drive. Are those CrystalDiskMark readings above the threshold...

[SOLVED] Is My Hard Drive Still Healthy?

You think 11 years could still be good? Thank you. I didn't know about WD Dashboard. It says the drive is "Normal". Here's a CrystalDiskInfo screenshot for some more info. How does that look?

[SOLVED] Is My Hard Drive Still Healthy?

Hi all! I have a pretty old Western Digital 2TB HDD (WD20EARX). I bought it in 2011, so it's now 11 years old. Hard Disk Sentinel shows its health is somehow still at 100%, despite it being used so much, for so long. For comparison, my main system SSD, which has a power on time of 16x less...

Question RGB fan randomly flickering with Aura Sync

Thanks for your help, bud! Turns out the fans were fully addressable, but the hub was not made for motherboard control. It specifically had a Rosewill 2-pin connector for the front panel LED button. They used it in an ABS case, which is all part of the same Rosewill-ABS-Newegg company (I found...

Question RGB fan randomly flickering with Aura Sync

If I plug just my CPU cooler fan into the header, I can control it in Fusion, so I doubt the header is bad, right? That should confirm it's working? If I got an entirely new hub, say, something like a Corsair Commander Pro, I would still be tied to Fusion 2.0, correct? It's a shame that...

Question RGB fan randomly flickering with Aura Sync

I'm thinking either the Rosewill fans in the prebuilt are not the same as the ones I found on their site, or Fusion 2.0 is just being weird. I tried changing the fan colors in the BIOS too, and that also did nothing. Perhaps it'd be good to just get a new hub, though it looks like the fans have...

Question RGB fan randomly flickering with Aura Sync

The addressable (DLED) header on my motherboard looks like the one in the circle above on the left side. The one with 1 pin 1 pin no pin and 1 pin. So, the only adapter that I'm able to plug in is the one labelled "for Asus/MSI". That one is 4-pin with one blocked off. Is that correct?

Question RGB fan randomly flickering with Aura Sync

Gigabyte B560 DS3H AC-Y1 https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/B560-DS3H-AC-rev-10#kf As per this image, there's a 5V addressable DLED header with 3 pins. That's the one I'm using. The cable I have that goes from the hub has two 3 pin connectors, depending on the mobo manufacturer. Is that...

Question RGB fan randomly flickering with Aura Sync

Thanks. I'm pretty sure these are the fans installed in my case and the site says they're Gigabyte Fusion 2.0 compatible...

Question RGB fan randomly flickering with Aura Sync

Hey! I've had a similar issue to you. I have Rosewill fans running through a Rosewill hub, and then into a 5V ARGB header on a Gigabyte motherboard. They all flicker or are not addressable using Fusion 2.0. Did you get yours resolved? :)

    [SOLVED] Screen Freezing/Turning Off Randomly

Just to update this for anyone who views it in future, I decided to put my PC next to me, and test it with a 2 meter (6 ft) DisplayPort cable, and now I don't get any of the problems I mentioned before. So, either it was the cable, or an HDMI port on my GPU or monitor. My assumption is that it...

    [SOLVED] Screen Freezing/Turning Off Randomly

Hi all! I recently finished my new build (specs below), and I find that sometimes when I open Apex Legends, the screen turns off, freezes, or starts flickering. Sometimes, I'm able to pull the HDMI cable out, and when I put it back in, everything's fine. Other times, even once I've done that...
