well i wanted to try using a sata instead of an ide, because i have tried 3 diffrent ide drives.... but i have no sata to borrow from anyone :-/

i know this, but i only put one hard drive in at a time, and 1 cd drive, i have he hard drive set as master and the cd set as slave.

Fleakiller ... do you have this board? or did you look up the manual online? curious if you have the board what bios version do you have...

i was pretty sure that a 32bit windows wont recognize a full 4 gigs, and anything more than that is a waist... untill you get a 64x or a linux o.s.

i was thinking maybe i need to unplug all my usb connections, all ... everything.... and see if it works with video memory and motherboard, (plus processor) and plug little in by little to see if its any of the usb connections (to case) or audio to case... or anything else that might be hooked up...

Yes, i do have the jumpers set correctly. drive master and cd slave. i really do appreciate the help... i just wish something would work!!!

well i cant run gparted it tells me half way through booting the cd it cant find it... thats nice....

i can try to fix my MBR as many times as i want and i says successful everytime.... but every time it tells me i have a non standard or invalid mbr... do i wanna fix it anyway, i say yes. it says successful, i try again it tells me its bad again... ??

no i am not running Raid... i will try setting up the partitions with Gparted... that way i KNOW whats going on

i have tried 3 different ide cables... but i deff do see the drives and they are being read. i booted into some live CD's and could see them, i was also able to start an XP install.... but when it reboots to continue to install its a no go from there..

i know i ran outa ideas a long time ago.... i just tried redoing the MBR, it told me i had a non standard or invalid mbr and replacing it could damage partitions and make then inaccessible and junk... so i did it completed successfully, but now i am sitting at "verifying DMI pool data...

... the MBR is on the hard drive.... i find it surprising all 3 hard drives have corrupted mbr's.... dont you?
