Yeah, 4K might be in the future but in addition to htpc it's gonna be a secondary multi-use computer in the living room with some occassional encoding.

I'm just wondering if the extra 300mhz would even be noticeable. Using it as an overkill htpc, want 4 cores so I'm not limited in what I can do on it (i.e handbrake, photoshop) max budget is the 7600 ($299 CAD)

I have my htpc connected to my TV via HDMI and want to play audio through my tv soundbar via hdmi, is this possible? If I plug directly into the soundbar there's no video signal, and if directly into tv then no audio.

Looking to buy the cheapest GPU possible to drive a 4K monitor @ 60hz. I don't play video games so that's not a concern...any suggestions?
