Hi Guys! I am looking to build the lowest possible budget PC for Gaming and Game Development, I am from the UK which means my budget is in pounds (I assumed it'd be around £600 but any cheaper is fine by me!) I am hoping for 60FPS at 1080p but will drop to 720p if that makes the price...

Because games on consoles use lower resolutions, they usually go for either 1080p OR 60fps as they simply can't handle both.

Your cousin is right about using the PC as a console, but the decision rests on whether you think the PS4 exclusives are worth it. I would say, don't bother as the PC is easily upgradeable whereas the PS4 is not upgradable.

For gaming I'd say upgrade the monitor as the 970 is good enough to run well on it but the difference isn't massive.
