[SOLVED] Awful stuttering/freezing throughout use of PC, I'm completely stumped with diagnostics and would really appreciate any help/advice. Troubleshooting

My god I think you've actually solved it! The video on that article is EXACTLY what I've been experiencing for the past 6 months. I did enable fTPM as it was listed as a requirement for Windows 11 prior to it's launch. Originally, my bios had this setting off by default but now the latest...

[SOLVED] Awful stuttering/freezing throughout use of PC, I'm completely stumped with diagnostics and would really appreciate any help/advice. Troubleshooting

The Problem: For about 6 months, I've been experiencing periodic (once every 4-5 hours) freezing and stuttering. These stutters are very jarring and freaky, like a snippet of audio gets looped and the framerate chugs, it actually sounds like it's about to BSOD but never does. This isn't a minor...

Question Occasional audio/video stutter on Windows 10/11

Just updating this thread, as the issue returned a few weeks ago and I am no closer to identifying the source of the stutters. At this point I've pretty much given up, the glitches are pretty infrequent, so it's not the end of the world but a solution would make me unimaginably greatful.

Question Bad RAM or faulty DIMM?

What you said about XMP stuck out to me for some reason, so I decided to investigate that further. Turns out yes! The ram errors (and BSOD) are only occuring when XMP profile 1 is enabled, however it's still not happening consistently. Only some boots result in BSOD and memtest errors (around...

Question Bad RAM or faulty DIMM?

Yes I tested with default speed and with XMP profile 1, memtest passed on both accounts. Worth mentioning that although it's two separate sets, they're the exact same model, and this PC has operated without issue for over a year. EDIT: Wanted to add, I have no way of identifying which belong to...

Question Bad RAM or faulty DIMM?

I've been experiencing occasional BSOD, and have narrowed the issue down to either RAM or DIMM slot/s. I tested my ram a week ago with memtest86 and got over 30 errors (oof.) However, I have since tested all 4 modules individually in DIMM 1, and all passed without any errors. I also tested all 4...

Question Occasional audio/video stutter on Windows 10/11

Hey Thomas, Unfortunately I wasn't able to narrow it down to a specific cause. Performance montitoring during the stutters didn't yield anything out of the ordinary (e.g. I didn't notice irregular spikes in hardware usage, or processes that may have been responsible.) However, At some point the...

Question Occasional audio/video stutter on Windows 10/11

I have HWinfo, so I'll graph my performance through the week and update this thread If I notice any performance correlation. I agree that this seems to be a Windows thing, as this has only been happening for the past couple weeks, and my PC has passed all diagnostic tests, has latest drivers and...

Question Occasional audio/video stutter on Windows 10/11

Thanks for the reply, For me this seems to have nothing to do with youtube. You could be onto something regarding the CPU spikes, but I can't really verify as I have yet to monitor performance during a stutter. I am on the latest bios for the mobo, and latest drivers too, (latest nvidia driver...

Question Occasional audio/video stutter on Windows 10/11

I recently (within the last 2 weeks) started noticing this repeating problem. Every now and then (with no regularity) my display drops to about 2 fps and the audio stutters, lasting for about 1-2 seconds. My Specs: MOBO: Gigabyte x570 aorus elite wi-fi CPU: Ryzen 3900x PSU: Corsair HX1200 GPU...

[SOLVED] POST Build Blues - New Ryzen 3900 System

Okay so you had the right idea with the stock cooler, I just breadboarded with stock cooler and I posted! Thanks heaps for the help! Btw, is motherboard compatability a known issue for the H100i? If so, can I get it to work after win10?

[SOLVED] POST Build Blues - New Ryzen 3900 System

I'm going to breadboard it tomorrow and try the stock cooler. Aside from the steps involving mobo debug beeps, I've done everything on that step-by-step list. I also tried with a normal HDMI to monitor with no luck.
