So I finally got around to updating the BIOS, and it hasn't made any difference - the front 2 ports don't detect my webcam. Although interestingly, the webcam does work with the USB 3.0 port on the front. This isn't a huge problem for me any more, I can get by without the 2 front ports. But...

It's showing up under Cameras as Logi 310 HD Webcam. I tried digging around the system to find a troubleshooter to use on this device, and the closest I could find was a setting to troubleshoot the microphone and audio recording. It found nothing, no problems, and the drivers were up to date...

I just checked, and the webcam is detected in Device Manager, even when plugged into the front USB ports where it isn't working. Still really confused. I'll see what happens when I update the BIOS, hopefully this weekend.

So I changed the CMOS battery, and this seems to have fixed the issue. My PC boots up normally now without needing to change the time/date. I'm guessing the driver update was just coincidental and wasn't the problem. Thanks guys!

I Googled a whole bunch of tutorials claiming to show me how to check the CMOS battery in Windows 10 and none of them worked. Not a problem though, it's really cheap to replace anyway. Hopefully it'll solve the issue.

You could be right. I haven't figured out how to check the status of the CMOS battery in Windows 10, but the fact that it fails to update the time whenever I boot up suggests that might be it. I've ordered a new battery, and I'll see how it goes after I replace it.
