Which graphics card should I choose for now?

You are right. I guess I can only guarantee 4k if I go 1080 or above. Regarding the monitor size, I am using Samsung 28" 4K U28E590D monitor right now. Distance wise maybe around 2 feet from my seat.

Which graphics card should I choose for now?

But does 1070 deserve the extra bucks? With 1070 probably I can upgrade to 1440p, but I am not sure if that would make day and night difference from 1080p gaming. Hence my constantly struggle to pick from 1060 or 1070 class. For 1080 it just seems to be out of my budget, too much to spend just...

Which graphics card should I choose for now?

Just to add on to the above, I recently checked Amazon for the prices. I found MSI Gaming X 1060 6GB at $226 and MSI Sea Hawk X 1070 8GB (with hybrrid cooling) at $419, both after tax and rebate.

Which graphics card should I choose for now?

I got a MSI Armor RX480 8GB in January and recently sold it for around $380 due to the bitcoin craze. I am struggling which card should I be picking now. I am a casual gamer who plays some FPS and RTS at 1080p right now on my Freesync 4K monitor. Part of the struggle also is I am not sure...

GTX 1080 or wait for vega?

Depending on how soon you want the card. If you need a strong video card right now you won't go wrong with GTX 1080. But if you can wait for a few weeks, it wouldn't hurt to wait and see how Vega performs. Even if it doesn't beat GTX 1080 it would also put some price pressure on it and you end...

    1700 vs i7 7700k for CAD

I am not familiar with the price of professional graphics card. However even getting a standard graphics like geforce 1050 or radeon 470 would be beneficial to the renderings as those applications support gpu acceleration. Moreover it is a must to get a graphics for ryzen 7 as it does not...

    1700 vs i7 7700k for CAD

I would recommend getting ryzen 1700 or 1700x instead of 1800x. 1800x is $170 USD more expensive than 1700 but the performance difference can be compensated by simple overclocking or just let the XFR do the trick. With the spared money, you can invest on some workstation graphics card like...

    1700 vs i7 7700k for CAD

For existing Autocad releases they do not support multi-thread systems very well. See the knowledge base document below. However there is definitely great chance that such will be improved in future releases. So if you go for ryzen now for Autocad only, you will take a performance hit now but...

Best Graphics Cards for the Money (Archive)

The price difference is still big even if you compare the full price between RX 480 8GB and 1060 6GB. RX 480 8GB lowest is selling for $215 without rebate, while 1060 6GB is $240 without rebate.

Best Graphics Cards for the Money (Archive)

Please seriously check the price before releasing the article. I bought a custom MSI RX 480 8gb last week for $199 after rebate. The price is not uncommon to see on newegg. Whereas Geforce 1060 6gb I can only find $235 after rebate at the lowest on newegg. The article is only meaningful if it...

Slow Regular HDD Performance on Windows 10

Hi, I have newly upgraded my system and I have kept my original 3 harddisks (2 SSD and 1 HDD) with it. However, I found that the HDD is having very slow performance like only ~20MB/sec big file transfer rate, and take 1 minute to just open up a 2GB rar file. Then I tried the followings: 1...

    Should I run games at 1080p 60FPS+ or 1440p 40-50FPS with RX 480?

Thanks for the opinion. Actually I have never had rigs that could run 60FPS with max settings. So I would probably try the 1080p option :)

    Should I run games at 1080p 60FPS+ or 1440p 40-50FPS with RX 480?

I just bought myself a MSI Gaming X RX 480 8GB. I read from different reviews that RX 480 can run max detail with 60FPS+ usually on 1080p but could only manage around 40-50FPS if 1440p. For me I usually play some FPS like rainbow six, COD, and sometimes some RTS like company of heroes. Not a...

    Struggling with System Build Choices

If so I would probably go for some 4K 60Hz monitor like the ASUS MG28UQ 28" 4K monitor, which costs around 400 on amazon. Thanks for your great help!
