I just remembered that I did adjust the RAM voltage/timing to run at 1066. I managed to boot the computer to BIOS and reset all settings. Memory is back to 800. It's booting up fine now.
yeah, I already checked the connections and they are good. I'm gonna try switching to my 750 PSU and see what happens. No OC'ing yet. I've been having alot of hardware issues with this build. I've destroyed a 4870 X2 and a mobo from not installing the EK GPU water block correctly. So now...
Hi guys,
I have a problem with my gaming computer. I installed Power DVD Ultra and 10 minutes later (on idle) my computer shut down on its own. At first I thought the computer just needed a restart to finalize the install but it never came back on.
So I turned off the PSU power switch off...
thanks for the comments.
Yeah, I went with this fan controller because it's the only one I could find that is visible at all angles. I get a kick out of watching the numbers constantly changing in real-time. Kinda neat but not accurate.
I am running Vista Ultimate x64.
Looks good but I would probably just spend a little more and get a 4870X2 over crossfired 4850s. Also, maybe ditch one of the VelociRaptos to bring down cost a bit.
Hi guys,
Not sure if it is OK to post pics in this forum but I just wanted to show you all my latest build. It's not quite complete. I am in the planning phase to water cool this rig.
Specs:
Case: Lian Li PC-A17B Mid-Tower (with misc. mods)
CPU: Q9450 2.66GHz
RAM: 6GB 1066MHz
Mobo...
The only time I snooped around checking people's salaries was when I was helping a user that had that info all over her screen. I couldn't help but check how much my boss makes. Also, we usually locked them out first before they find out they are fired. Along with a quick escort out the building.
Vista still has some ways to go before it becomes as stable as XP.
I bought Vista Ultimate 64-bit and had nothing but software crashes and the occasional BSOD. Then I realized that it's DEP and UAC that's causing majority of the problem. I turned them both off and I am now actually enjoying...
Wow, thanks for all the info guys. I appreciate it alot.
I do plan to oc but only the CPU. CPU is a Q9450 2.66GHz and thought to maybe bump it up to 3GHz tops. GPU (4870x2) remains stock. I'm hesitating on doing anything else to it other than wc... it's really due to the extended warranty I...
Hi,
I'm on the planning stage to WC my mid tower case (Lian Li PC-A17B) and I have the parts somewhat planned out but I am stuck on what size tubing and the matching barbs that would go with it.
I am planning to go with a 3/8" ID tubing but I am not sure if I should go with a 3/8" barb...
What's a good price range for a good CPU water cooler?
I found this system by Swiftech: Swiftech H20-220-APEX ULTRA CPU Liquid Cooling Kit w/ Apogee GT
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swh2edukit.html
This looks like a good fit for my case. Any thoughts?
I need help on finding the right type of CPU water cooling for my setup.
This is going to be my first attempt at water cooling so to simplify things, I am just going to water cool the CPU. I looked around and realized these systems are made for a specific case/mobo design. I am not sure as to...
Thanks guys. I was debating on whether to get a 750 or 1000w PSU. this will save me about $130 by going with the 750w.
I went with the Corsair Dominator because I already have 2GB of it. It was from a Dell XPS 630i that had to downngrade to XP (4GB to 2GB)and I just happen to be at the right...
This machine that I am building is mainly for multimedia, audio/video editing. Some gaming as well i.e WoW and COD4. I am also planning to crossfire the graphics cards some time in the future. I am not sure if the PSU I listed will support dual 4870s... Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
