Both. Customers will not rely on Seagates' testing alone though and have their own evaluation.

News AMD Ryzen 7040 Phoenix Mobile Specs Show No Sign of PCIe 5.0

Indeed, and then in a design that is light but not necessarily thin so we can have ports, SO-DIMM, 2 M.2 2280 SSDs and real quiet yet, for a 15-28W CPU, great performance. Imagine that with a 70Wh battery.

News Seagate Launches 2nd Gen Dual-Actuator HDDs: 18TB at 554 MBps

Actually, no. There is a single spindle but the actuators are located on top of each other. The advantage is that they can operate independent of each other, each on half of the platters. It's more like having 2 HDD inside one package or Raid-0 like.

I think the Russians will become masters of overclocking, maybe even get a 100% OC!

News RDNA 3 Reportedly More Than Doubles the Core Count of the RX 6000 Series GPUs

"It's possible AMD will do something similar to Nvidia's Ampere where the number of shaders per functional unit (WGP)." - That's some wild speculation, even if unintelligible.

News TSMC's Arizona Fab Hiring Woes Prompt Calls for Willing Taiwanese Migrants

So with all these accusations against TSMC of trying to import low-wage labor from Taiwan, has anyone checked how much TSMC is actually paying for these positions in Arizona? Looking at...

News GeForce MX550 Edges Over Ryzen 9 APU In New Benchmark

You are probably right. On the other hand, I would not be surprised if it would outperform APU+low end dGPU solution and end up cheaper because. well,. you don;t need a dGPU and accompanying memory. If only I were a billionaire, I'd make it happen (although, if I were a billionaire, I'd probably...

News GeForce MX550 Edges Over Ryzen 9 APU In New Benchmark

And for the umpteenth time things like this make me wonder what a quad-channel APU would do for GFX performance. I realise the mem-controller and MB (due to traces) would become more expensive but what you would save is dGPU real estate to, you know, add like a 4th M.2 slot in a 14"chassis. A...

News AMD Teases 5nm Ryzen 7000 ‘Raphael’ Zen 4 CPUs, Unveils Ryzen 7 5800X3D with 96MB of L3 Cache

You are probably right but I don;t fear Dunning-Kruger. And with an iGPU, it's not like we would need the bandwidth an RTX3080 uses as the iGPU simply does not process that much. But as I always read that AMDs iGPUs are waiting for data, I do wonder how much difference it would make. I mean, if...

News AMD Teases 5nm Ryzen 7000 ‘Raphael’ Zen 4 CPUs, Unveils Ryzen 7 5800X3D with 96MB of L3 Cache

I really wished AMD did a quad-channel CPU to feed the iGPU. It seems like such a good trade-off to me to have better GFX at rather low cost, both with respect to power consumption and to actual real estate (saving a dGPU + dedicated memory). I realize the MB may need to have additional layers...

News Rumour: AMD Looking at 600W cTDP for 5th Gen EPYC 'Turin' CPUs

News AMD Ryzen 7 5700G Review: Fastest Integrated Graphics Ever

I wonder how much iGPU performance would gain from a quad-channel design, especially since the gain from single-to-dual channel tremendous (74%). If a doubling gives another 30%, that'd be huge.

News Chia: Stop Farming with Consumer SSDs or Stop Complaining About Endurance

And again Tom's gets the headline wrong. No, farming Chia won't affect your SSD. Plotting will. Geesh, and then they recommend systems for plotting, they should know better.

News Seagate Lists the Mach.2: The World's Fastest HDD

It would be in line with the accuracy Tom's has had sofar in reporting on Chia. Chia aren't mined, they're farmed.
