CPU overheating with CM Hyper 212 LED

Thanks both. I found the multi core enhancement option in BIOS and disabled it. It seems to have worked! My idle core temps went down by 1-2 degrees, and during the benchmark and my own "Photoshop test", all of the cores stayed under 70 max. Thanks a lot, hopefully this issue is sorted...

CPU overheating with CM Hyper 212 LED

Hi I built a new system with a stock 8700K and Strix Z370-E MB. A few days ago I noticed that my CPU runs quite hot - high 30s Celsius in idle, and up to 90s during benchmarking or while moving Photoshop's exposure sliders in Camera Raw. So I replaced the stock CPU cooler with a new CM Hyper...

CPU overheating - which air cooler?

I didn't remove the cpu. But I wonder if i may have overtightened cooler which may have resulted in a bent pin? I did remove ram though - maybe need to check that i connected it properly too. I'm away for two days, so will need to deal with it tomorrow evening... Fingers crossed.

CPU overheating - which air cooler?

Thanks ko888. How about the width? Won't it interfere with RAM on my motherboard?

CPU overheating - which air cooler?

Hi all I just built a new system with a stock Intel cooler. I have been monitoring CPU temperature, and at some points during benchmarking or using Photoshop it reached 100C! (Although when idle, it's around 35C). So i assume i need a better cooler. My question is what air cooler would fit my...

    Disk lost during initializing

Hi all I have a desktop with 2 SSDs and 2 HDDs. I just bought a 3TB Seagate HDD to expand my storage. I connected the HDD, went to Disk Management and chose to initialize the unallocated disk. Following that, I couldn't select anything on the Disk Management window because the cursor looked...

Windows doesn't boot after removing secondary HDD

Hi all Recently, I started getting a message on my desktop PC that one of my SATA disks is disconnecting. Furthermore, I often started getting BSOD with Critical_Process_Died message. Since the disconnecting disk is an old secondary HDD from 2011 (which i transferred from my old PC), I...

    Laptop HDD recovery

Hi all I had a HP laptop which stopped working about three years ago. Today I finally decided to see whether I can salvage the info from its HDD. So I removed the HDD, put it into an external SATA HDD case and connected it to my PC via USB. My desktop recognises the HDD, but the only file I...

Old HDD not detected following new OS SSD installation

Thanks for the response fixer - sorry you got to write a long response to the first issue - I guess my message just above was sent when you were typing and you can see that it was resolved. I checked my BIOS again and I have: Under Boot Option Priorities I have only two options to choose from...

Old HDD not detected following new OS SSD installation

OK, the first problem, i.e. missing HDD drive, has been resolved - it was as easy as assigning a drive letter and path to it in Disk Management... The other problem is still there, however - i.e. why my new SSD which has my Windows 8 does not appear in Boot Priorities Option in BIOS? Yet, the...

I have i5-4677k, GA-H87M-D3H mobo, 8 GB of RAM, AMD HD7870 GPU, and two disks - Sandisk Ultra Plus SSD (with OS) and WD 10EALX (which does not show up now). My core temperatures are about 30C according tio HW Monitor. Both disks are 22C. Two days ago, before my old SSD broke down, everything...
